Family Nurse Practitioner, Per Diem – Katy, TX

We are looking for a licensed Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician’s Assistant to add to our team of Advanced Practitioners in Katy, TX. The Advanced Practitioner oversees the infusion care provided by nurses in the physician‑based ambulatory infusion center, creates and maintains care plans for all patients referred to the center, supports nurses during infusions, evaluates patients’ needs during procedures as necessary, and serves as the primary clinical liaison between referring physicians and the infusion center.

Compensation
  • Pay Range: $55.00 – $60.00/hr.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Review and evaluate clinical information provided by referring physician offices and admit appropriate patients for infusion.
  • Evaluate newly referred patients and develop initial plans of care.
  • Monitor plans of care and make necessary changes.
  • Perform pertinent physical exams, assess normal and abnormal findings on new patients, and confirm suitability for infusion.
  • Review all lab reports provided by the referring physician.
  • Request diagnostic and lab studies of the referring physician upon evaluation of the patient as needed.
  • Recognize situations that require the immediate attention of a physician and initiate life‑saving procedures when necessary.
  • Consult with the supervising Medical Director as needed.
  • Document infusion orders in the electronic medical record.
  • Dictate or document notes in the electronic medical record.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
  • Promote company quality outcome initiatives.
  • Delegate responsibilities to staff nurses on duty.
  • Follow company policies and CDC guidelines for infection control.
  • Carry out all duties in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Provide patient education and answer questions from prospective patients and referring physicians.
  • Enforce all HIPAA compliance guidelines.
Qualifications
  • Must have a current license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician’s Assistant in the state in which service is provided.
  • Must be a Family Nurse Practitioner to be able to work with patients under 18 years old.
  • Must have a current DEA license.
  • Rheumatology and/or infusion experience preferred, but not required.
  • 1‑3 years in a clinic setting preferred.
  • Must possess outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong customer service skills to identify and address patient needs.
  • Intermediate computer skills, MS Office.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to work independently to deliver key results.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and maintain a high degree of professional ethics, along with knowledge of confidential and regulatory compliance practices.
