Travel RN - Med​/Surg - Hospice​/Palliative Care

American Traveler is hiring a Hospice RN for an in-home care position requiring HCHB and OASIS experience plus participation in an on-call rotation.

• Active TX or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS/CPR certification required
• CHPN certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year of hospice experience and 2 years of overall clinical RN experience required
• HCHB and OASIS experience required; 1 year of experience in both preferred
• Current driver's license required
• Must have reliable transportation and auto insurance
• No license hits accepted

• In-home hospice care across a service area in central Texas, including territory up to 50 miles outside the home base office
• Patient population includes geriatric and hospice patients requiring interdisciplinary care coordination
• Average of 4-6 patients per day with a required minimum of 30 points per week
• Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday (8am-5pm), with weekends as needed
• On-call rotation required, including at least one night of call per week
• Charting must be completed in HCHB and OASIS while at the patient's home
• Mileage reimbursed at IRS standard rate, calculated from the first to last patient visit
• Responsible for administering skilled nursing care to hospice patients in diverse home environments
• Coordinates care with patients, families, certifying providers, and interdisciplinary team members
• Performs comprehensive assessments and collaborates on Plan of Care development and oversight
• Assigned a tablet and expected to see admissions same day as needed
• Non-smokers requested due to patient sensitivity to cigarette smell (COPD population)
• Scrubs required, any color
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply

• Candidates without prior HCHB training must complete certification, with proof provided before start
