The Accountant, reporting to the Financial Shared Services (FSC) Manager, North America, is responsible for supporting the monthly close process, assisting in audit processes, and other projects as needed. This individual will be responsible for maximizing the efficiency of our financial systems. Our ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication, problem-solving, and process management skills.
Responsibilities- Follow Ahlstrom's manufacturing and hygiene processes, procedures, and policies to meet safety, quality, and regulatory compliance requirements for each grade of paper.
- Assist in the month-end close process.
- Provide support for the audit process.
- Ensure reporting accuracy and reconciliation to the general ledger.
- Assist FSC Manager, North America, in adherence to key control measures.
- Record, monitor, and track fixed assets.
- Track leases in Fatman and provide monthly reporting in accordance with IFRS 16.
- Support the team in various projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
- Strong GAAP skills required; familiarity with IFRS is a plus.
- 5+ years of business analysis and accounting experience in a manufacturing environment required.
- Paper industry experience desired.
- Strong analytical, financial systems, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of financial systems: JDE (experience strongly preferred), HFM, Fatman, and Microsoft Office tools.
- Advanced Excel skills preferred.
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
