North Central Utility (NCU) is looking for a self‑motivated and results‑driven Back Counter Sales Representative to represent NCU in the heavy‑duty truck & trailer parts industry. North Central Utility is one of the largest semi‑trailer dealerships in the nation and the largest in the North Central region with 10 locations throughout Wisconsin, Minnesota and North Dakota. We offer reefer, dry van and flatbed trailers from Utility Trailer Manufacturing at all locations and vocational trailers from MAC Trailers in Wisconsin – we sell new and used semi‑trailers.

With Moore Space, we offer temporary storage container solutions as well. Our parts department has an extensive inventory in heavy‑duty truck/tractor and trailer parts. Our broad product line and geographic coverage ensures we are a “One Stop Shop” for truck and semi‑trailer parts. Our service department offers everything from routine maintenance, certified DOT inspections to precision laser alignment, as well as complete wreck repair for trailers of all makes and models.

No job is too big or too small for our skilled service technicians. This position is a safety‑sensitive position, requiring pre‑employment and post‑accident drug testing.

This range is provided by North Central Utility. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.

Base pay range

$20.00/hr – $25.00/hr

Job Duties And Responsibilities
  • Oversee back counter operation
  • Work with service technicians for repair order parts
  • Assist service manager with shop estimates
  • Assist service technicians and customers
  • Ensure parts are pulled, dispensed to technicians, and issued to repair orders quickly and correctly
  • Review repair order status, following up and expediting backorders
  • Assist with walk‑in customers
  • Answer phone
  • Educate the retail customer on NCU parts and services
  • Ensure outstanding customer service with back counter sales
  • Accurate and timely processing and completion of paperwork
  • Assist with delivery and route operation as needed
  • Order processing
  • Assist with parts stocking and store organization
  • Load & unload vehicles as needed
  • Work with management to eliminate excess inventory and increase turns
  • Build relationships with customers
  • Assist front counter parts
  • Assist in warehouse
  • Warranty administration
  • Assist with inventory
  • Assist Parts Manager as needed
  • Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Driver’s License in good standing
  • Previous experience preferred
  • Strong computer skills
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) proficiency
  • Proficient with technology
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including sitting, standing, walking, bending, twisting, reaching overhead, stooping, squatting, and repetitively pushing/pulling and/or lifting/carrying at least 50 pounds
