: $5,258/month (SR22; BU13) + Additional $4,576/month Shortage Differential + $666.66/month Temporary Shortage Differential

JOB DUTIES

This position interprets physician prescriptions and medication orders. The position may work on rotating shifts, with work on weekends and holidays and may require standby and call back duty. Must be available to work shifts as necessary based on hospital operations; services are provided 24/7.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must meet all of the following requirements. Education and experiences may not be gained concurrently unless indicated. Qualifying work experiences are based on a 40-hour work week.

EDUCATION
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a baccalaureate or Pharm.

    D degree in pharmacy.
EXPERIENCE
  • 6 months of full-time work experience as a licensed pharmacist. Hospital experience and experience working with an Electronic Medical Record system preferred.
CERTIFICATION
  • None
LICENSURE
  • A valid license with the State of Hawaii as a Pharmacist is required at the time of appointment.
SUPERVISORY APTITUDE
  • Must possess supervisory aptitude. Demonstrates potential for supervisory duties through assignments, leadership roles, or training; or favorable supervisor appraisals indicating supervisory potential.
KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES
  • Knowledge of
    :
    Principles and practices of professional pharmacy; pharmacokinetics, pharmacology, toxicology, therapeutics; pharmaceutical instruments and techniques used in compounding; knowledge of sterile admixture and sterile technique.
  • Knowledge of USP Chapter 797 and USP Chapter 800; adhere to rules on personal hygiene/garbing (USP 797) and proper PPE for hazardous materials (USP 800).
  • Ability to
    :
    Read and interpret prescriptions and procedures; keep records and prepare reports; establish and maintain effective working relationships with medical and administrative staff.

    Excellent verbal and written communication; promote teamwork; handle highly confidential information.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be physically able to perform essential duties, including reading small print and hearing voices with or without aids. May be exposed to hazardous materials, chemotherapeutic agents, infections, and contagious diseases. Works with frequent interruptions and under workload deadlines. Must maintain confidentiality and function with minimal supervision.
