JOB TITLE: PER DIEM NURSE, TEMPORARY, PART-TIME, NO BENEFITS

JOB LOCATION: KONA COMMUNITY HOSPITAL
PAY AMOUNT: $57.99 PER HOUR
Per Diem Nurse vacancies may be in the following areas: Behavioral Health (Adult), Emergency Department, Medical/Surgical, Nursing Float Pool, OB, Recovery Room Services and OR.
JOB DUTIES: Coordinates nursing care for patients, participates in patient and family teaching and provides leadership by working cooperatively with other staff and departments in maintaining standards of nursing care; follows established policies, procedures or specific instructions. This position may be required to work shifts, weekends, and holidays. MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK SHIFTS AS NECESSARY BASED ON HOSPITAL OPERATIONS; SERVICES ARE PROVIDED 24/7.
The Minimum Qualification Requirements are: To qualify, you must meet all of the following requirements. Please note that unless specifically indicated, the required education and experience may not be gained concurrently. In addition, qualifying work experience is credited based on a 40-hour workweek.
Education: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. While not required, graduation from an accredited nursing program with a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university is highly desirable.
Experience: One (1) year of progressively responsible professional nursing work experience in an acute care setting where the employee independently provided nursing care to patients. Such experience must have been gained within the last two (2) years. Exception:
Women’s Health positions – experience must be gained within the last five years. Chemo positions require one-half (1/2) year of progressively responsible professional nursing work experience in an out-patient chemotherapy department within the last two (2) years.
Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Health Care Worker required at the time of appointment. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required within six (6) months of employment. Possession of specific certification may be required for certain nursing positions.
Licensure: Possession of a current license to practice as a professional nurse in the State of Hawaii.
Required Forms And Documentation: Applicants must submit evidence of the appropriate training (e.g. official transcript or diploma and certifications) to be given credit for education. Applicants must submit evidence of current RN licensure (a copy of valid license) at the time of filing an application. A legible photocopy will be accepted; however, Hawaii Health Systems Corporation, Kona Community Hospital reserves the right to request an official copy.
