JOB LOCATION: KONA COMMUNITY HOSPITAL – EMERGENCY SERVICES
SALARY RANGE: 90% of $8,937/month (SR-20; BU:09)
JOB DUTIES
:
The Emergency Department provides medical screening examinations, ongoing assessment and initial treatment/or advice to patients with illnesses or injuries who present to department for treatment. Emergency care is offered 24 hours a day with an experienced physician on duty with specialty consultants from the medical staff available in a timely fashion.
The Registered Professional Nurse coordinates nursing care for patients, participates in patient and family teaching and provides leadership by working cooperatively with other staff and departments in maintaining standards of nursing care; follows established policies, procedures or specific instructions. This position may be required to works shifts, weekends, and holidays.
MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK SHIFTS AS NECESSARY BASED ON HOSPITAL OPERATIONS; SERVICES ARE PROVIDED 24/7.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS ARE
:
Applicants must meet all of the following requirements. Please note that unless specifically indicated; the required education and experiences may not be gained concurrently. In addition, qualifying work experiences are based on a 40-hour work week.
EDUCATION:
Graduated from an accredited school of nursing. While not required, graduation from an accredited nursing program with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is highly desirable.
EXPERIENCE:
One-half (1/2) year of responsible professional nursing work experience. Of the required one-half (1/2) year of professional nursing work experience, one-half (1/2) year of professional nursing experience working in an emergency room setting is highly desired.
CERTIFICATION
:
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Health Care Worker required at the time of appointment. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) certification are required within six (6) months of employment.
LICENSE
:
Possession of a current license to practice as a professional nurse in the State of Hawaii.
Required Forms & Documentation:
Evidence of the appropriate training (e.g., official transcript or degree) to be given credit for education and/or experience. A legible photocopy will be accepted; however, Kona Community Hospital reserves the right to request an official copy.
