Job Summary
Kearney Crete & Block Company is looking for a high performing individual to join our team! The person in this position p rovides office administrative support of the business facilities and performs as safety assistant to assure compliance of safety regulations and Company safety program. Abides by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Answers incoming telephone calls, determines purpose of calls, answers questions, provides information, and/or forwards calls to appropriate personnel or department.
Greets and assists walk-in customers and visitors.
Completes and compiles paperwork to set up new vendors and new customer accounts, sends information to NEBCO accounting office.
Reviews, codes, and routes payables to the proper divisions for application at the NEBCO accounting office, code garage charges and send to NEBCO accounting office, and manages petty cash.
Researches and creates credits for tax and/or price issues, researches and completes lien waivers for customers.
Maintains customers’ tax forms and sets up default jobs for tax exempt projects.
Collates monthly IFTA logs and files Quarterly IFTA returns online with State of Nebraska.
Updates and tracks vendors’ Certificates of Insurance (COI) documentation.
Documents, tracks, and maintains certificates of insurance, lien waivers, tax forms, garage charges, and international fuel tax agreements (IFTA).
Maintains Safety Data Sheets (SDS’).
Assists with inside and contractor sales as needed.
Orders employee items, office, and janitorial supplies as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience:
- High School education or equivalent GED, College or Technical School Certificate preferred;
- and six months related experience and/or training; or
- equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have an aptitude for numbers and accuracy.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
None required.
Other Qualifications:
- Must have a math aptitude for numbers and accuracy and be detail oriented.
- Must be able to maintain a good attendance record due to the support role of this position.
- Must understand the confining requirements of the receptionist duties.
- Must have intermediate level of knowledge of Microsoft Software, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power point.
- Must be flexible in work assignments.
- Spanish speaking skills are helpful but not necessary.
Other Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to read and comprehend office procedures, instructions, correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write routine business correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
