Job Summary:The University of Nebraska at Kearney invites applications for a lecturer or tenure‑track faculty position within the Health and Physical Education program. The program is located in the Kinesiology and Sport Sciences Department and College of Education. The successful candidate will teach courses within the Health and Physical Education major; advise undergraduate students; participate in service activities within the department, college, university, region, and profession, and engage in scholarly research.
The successful candidate will conduct research in her/his interest area leading to publications in nationally peer‑reviewed journals.
Requirements for Lecturer
- Master’s degree in HPE or related field
- Earned doctoral degree in a related field and evidence of ability to conduct research and garner external funding. ABD will receive full consideration.
- Excellence in teaching and the ability to communicate effectively with students and community groups is essential.
Preferred Qualifications for Lecturer
- Three or more years of teaching in the college or secondary school levels
- Experience with teaching face‑to‑face
- Experience with teaching online
- Evidence of the ability to be successful in the areas of teaching
- Evidence of the ability to be successful in the areas of service
