Working Title Graduate Assistant, Grad. Studies & Academic Innovation Brief Summary of Job Description The Office of Graduate Studies and Academic Innovation is seeking a dynamic, self‑motivated Graduate Assistant to support projects at the intersection of artificial intelligence (AI), online education, including micro‑credentialing & badging, and innovative communication. This position offers hands‑on experience with emerging technologies and education strategies shaping the future of higher education at UNK and beyond.
Job Duties- AI and Digital Resource Support
- Contribute to the development of AI‑related materials (e.g., prompt guides, training resources, website content support or design).
- Assist with basic ChatGPT EDU support and coordination of AI‑related events, workshops, and communications.
- Online Student Experience
- Support onboarding and engagement efforts for online students, including resource development, orientation content, and communication flows.
- Collaborate with Online Coordinators to improve student experience and persistence through targeted initiatives and feedback tracking.
- Micro‑credentialing & Program Coordination
- Assist with organizing micro‑credential courses and maintaining communication with faculty, departments, and external partners.
- Help manage tracking systems for course offerings, learner participation, and outcome reporting.
- Events, Outreach & Faculty Engagement
- Support the planning and logistics of trainings, faculty showcases, and workshops in partnership with the Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE), Learning Design Team, and other innovation areas.
- Leverage digital storytelling and social media to enhance our online presence and raise awareness of the impactful work led by our office.
- Must be enrolled in a UNK graduate program during the academic year.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively on multiple projects.
- High level of organization, attention to detail, self‑directed, with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Interest in innovation in digital education, student engagement, or technology‑enhanced learning.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Graduate study in fields such as Education, Communication, Instructional Design, Technology, Leadership, or a related area.
- Familiarity with tools such as ChatGPT, Canvas, and Microsoft Office.
- Experience with social media content creation, event support, or storytelling in an educational or professional setting.
- Understanding of or experience with online education, microcredentials, or faculty development initiatives.
- Enthusiasm for supporting learners and helping to advance student‑centered educational practices.
Physical Demands: 20 hrs per week during the academic year. Desired
