- Product line design responsibility including new product development and existing product line maintenance.
- Work effectively with customers, field sales personnel, engineering peers, internal support departments and suppliers.
- Product costing and estimating.
- Coordinate product prototyping, testing and validation.
- Resolve and respond to customer problems and non‑conforming product.
- Utilize skill and knowledge in product applications and manufacturing operations in the design and development of filter products that are manufactured from the most effective and cost‑efficient materials.
- Research product application requirements and specifications.
- Convey information on new or updated products to the involved departments and personnel.
- Work with manufacturing, purchasing, and sales on selecting new materials and processes for new and existing items.
- Issue requests for parts and assembly detail drawings. May assist in completing drawings.
- Approve quality assurance reports covering the initial production of parts and products.
- Direct maintenance of certain department technical data on component parts, customer blueprints, and specifications.
- Responsible for meeting with customers and suppliers to discuss matters relating to new product and part specifications.
- Provide assistance and training in the use of CAD equipment.
- Perform other related duties as required, including the following:
- Review and analyze competitor products as they are submitted.
- Review account sales for those involving private brand packaging, unique components or materials.
- Prepare reports on new product inquiries.
- Provide support to Production & Quality Assurance in resolving problems.
- Ensure quality and safety of own work and compliance of all company procedures and policies.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related Engineering or Technology field.
- Proficient in Auto Cad or Pro‑E and Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- General knowledge of manufacturing processes and capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully complete projects and work in a team.
