As a Chronic Registered Nurse (RN), you will be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for a group of dialysis patients. Working as part of the End Stage Kidney Disease (ESKD) health care team, you will play a critical role in ensuring safe, competent, and compassionate dialysis care while supporting patient education, quality improvement, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Key Responsibilities- Perform ongoing collection, assessment, and documentation of patient data throughout hemodialysis treatment
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure treatment plans meet clinical standards and patient needs
- Administer prescribed medications and document outcomes appropriately
- Provide education to patients and families regarding treatment modalities, transplant options, and lifestyle considerations
- Ensure proper collection, processing, and shipment of lab samples
- Direct daily provision of safe and effective dialysis therapy for assigned patients
- Act as a clinical resource and preceptor for patient care staff, including RNs, LPNs/LVNs, and Patient Care Technicians
- Support emergency response measures and participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Maintain accurate records per regulatory, clinical, and organizational standards
- Minimum 1 year of nephrology nursing experience as an RN within the past 2 years
- Chronic hemodialysis experience (Required)
- At least 9 months of RN experience and 3 months of dialysis RN experience
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Current RN state license (Nebraska or compact state)
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Previous experience as a Charge RN or Nurse in Charge
- Exposure to acute dialysis or critical care settings

- Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs regularly, occasionally more with assistance
