Overview

Part-Time Sales Teammate at The Buckle, Inc. The Sales Teammate fulfills our mission: “To create the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for our Guests.” Responsibilities include sales, merchandising, and operational tasks as assigned by Store Management (e.g., cashiering, merchandise display and pulls, register procedures, and routine cleaning of facilities).

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Sales Generation and Guest Service:
  Greet Guests, provide legendary service, answer questions, recommend and locate merchandise based on Guest needs.
• Anticipate Guest needs by suggesting additional items and creating a wardrobing experience.
• Demonstrate product knowledge and sales education to Guests and Team.
• Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions, payment/exchange policies, and security practices.
• Meet or exceed personal sales-per-hour, average sale, and total net sales goals as set by Store Management.
• Provide service in Front 5, sales floor, fitting rooms, and the register area.
• Assist Guests with trying on or fitting merchandise; process checkouts and bag purchases.
• Prepare merchandise for alterations; knowledge of exchange/return procedures.
• Utilize the Sales Presentation Guide (SPG) daily to achieve goals.
• Maintain Guest relationships to develop a client-based business; align with Buckle’s customer service expectations.
• Display leadership behaviors consistently, whether or not the Manager is present.

Teammate Recruiting, Training and Development

• Identify recruiting opportunities using Jobs & Careers cards, referrals, and Teammate recommendations.
• Foster relationships through Guest Loyalty and Guest Preferred programs.
• Maintain a professional, respectful attitude to create a positive floor culture.

Visual Merchandise Management

• Present merchandise to maximize sales and turnover; stay current on product range.
• Collaborate with Teammates and Guests on product improvements and feedback.
• Ensure the sales floor is properly sized and new freight is displayed.

Operations

• Ability to work a flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holiday periods as needed.
• Open/close cash registers, balance cash drawers, and handle payments and deposits.
• Monitor loss prevention and security; follow related policies.
• Perform merchandising tasks, including handling freight, re-merchandising, displays, price markdowns, and transfers.
• Maintain a clean, organized, shoppable store and provide feedback on merchandise handling concerns.
• Communicate policy violations and concerns to Store Manager, District Manager, or HR in a timely, confidential manner.
• Understand and apply Buckle’s Code of Ethics and policies.
• Fulfill the mission by performing duties with high customer service and positive teamwork.
• Participation in special projects and other duties as assigned.

Education And/or Experience

No prior experience or training required.

Physical Demands

Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, reach with arms, and move around the store. Ability to lift and maneuver up to 30 lbs. Visual requirements: close, distance, color, and depth perception.

Work Environment

Retail store environment with a usually moderate noise level.
