Responsibilities of the position include the knowledge and proper application of paints, varnishes, stains, enamels, and lacquers using brushes, rollers, and spraying equipment. Painters also clean, sand, sandblast, scrape, burn, and brush surfaces in preparation for painting. Duties also include the repair of surfaces to be painted including plastering and sheetrock finishing. Daily activities also require the use of various hand and power tools associated with carpentry trade.
Responsible for the proper use of ladders, scaffolding, various rigging, and hydraulic lifts to gain access to difficult areas. Responsibilities also include the performance of work in accordance with established safety procedures, the estimation of time and material cost on painting and remodeling projects, and the requisitioning of painting supplies and equipment.
- High School education or GED
- Ability to follow simple verbal and written instructions
- Ability to operate and maintain various hand and power tools associated with the position.
Selected candidate will need to complete a background check and pre-employment physical prior to their start date.
