Job OverviewThe Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) will provide Basic Life Support (BLS) services to patients.

- High School Graduate or GED.
- Current Driver’s License and must satisfy the current vehicle insurance company’s requirements.
- New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, or National Registry EMT Certification.
- American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider (CPR).
- Hazmat Awareness Certification.
- Must possess IC 100, 200, and NIMS 700, 800.
- Must have completed Weapons of Mass Destruction or CBRNE Awareness training.
- PHTLS/ITLS.
- Associate Degree.
- New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, or National Registry EMT Certification.
- American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider (CPR).
- Hazmat Awareness Certification.
- IC 100, 200, and NIMS 700, 800.
- Weapons of Mass Destruction or CBRNE Awareness training.
- Conducts oneself in a professional, dignified, and compassionate manner at all times.
- Capable of communicating clearly, effectively, and professionally in the English language via written and verbal means.
- Notifies Supervisor regarding any deficiencies regarding maintenance, equipment, or supplies.
- Notifies Supervisor immediately of any unusual circumstances.
- Provides treatment in accordance with established patient care protocols.
- Operates department vehicles in accordance with all applicable NJ Motor Vehicle Laws and MH driving related policies.
- Required to complete department specific continuing programs in addition to those required by the State of New Jersey Department of Health, Office of Emergency Medical Services.
- Expected to complete all patient care documentation in accordance with the MH Documentation Procedure.
- Interacts professionally with partners, patients, management, colleagues from other EMS agencies, public safety personnel, and other healthcare providers and members of the public.
- Expected to perform routine duties intended to keep them safe and facilitate their ability to provide patient care.
- Includes but not limited to: completing vehicle inspection forms, vehicle maintenance requests, submitting copies of required certifications prior to their due date, remaining compliant with hospital Employee Health requirements such as TB testing and N95 fit testing, and completing hospital-required processes such as annual employee self-evaluations and employee engagement surveys in a timely manner.
- Performs other duties as required or requested by MH management, necessary to the function of the organization.
- Per Diem – Provide 10 shifts of availability and work 6 shifts over 3 months. Must work 1 summer and 1 winter holiday along with 2 weekend shifts. All minimum shifts within region applicant is hired within. Per Diems tied only to their home region, may choose to work dayshift, night shift, or other shifts as per Station/Unit.
- Must maintain minimum required shifts.
- Part Time – Assigned two regularly scheduled shifts per week, for total of 4 shifts over 2 weeks, with at least 2 of the 4 shifts required to be a weekend, in the region hired into.
- Must work 24 hours per week.
- Full Time – Assigned 3 shifts a week, with weekend requirements, in the region hired into. Rotating Pitman schedule.
- Must work 36 hours per week.
