Kearny, NJ. Day shift (Mon‑Fri).
We are currently seeking a Wastewater Operator to join our team in Kearny, NJ.
Salary & BenefitsBase pay: $25.00/hr – $28.00/hr.
O‑time rates: $22.00/hr – $28.00/hr plus Overtime.

Responsibilities- Follow instructions from the Onsite Operator in Charge and carry out assigned tasks to support daily operations and maintenance activities for wastewater remediation. Responsibilities will include inspecting, adjusting, repairing or replacing, and monitoring process equipment, meters, gauges, and controls to identify issues and ensure optimal system performance.
- Assist with process control and field testing of water. Record and adjust pH levels and manage process chemicals, such as flocculants and coagulants, using mixers, pumps, and metering devices.
- Maintain access to land wells and system components by performing landscaping duties using hand tools, power tools, or precision equipment in accordance with O&M guidelines.
- Proactively ensure that job site indoor/outdoor areas are organized, clean, and free of debris.
- Follow all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance with fieldwork protocols.
- Keep abreast of industry standards and advancements in wastewater treatment and remediation technologies to enhance field operations, system performance and professional development.
- Understand, follow, and strictly adhere to all required safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
- Train and perform other duties as assigned.
- 2 years experience as a Wastewater Operator or Field Technician.
- Ability to repair and maintain mechanical equipment. Knowledge of remediation systems and gauges and pumps a plus.
- High school diploma/GED. Vocational Technical training in wastewater a plus.
- N1 Wastewater certification and OSHA 40 a plus.
- Comfortable taking work direction and performing tasks that require walking and standing for extended periods. Must be able to work in varying weather conditions and locations, some of which may require the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Ability to work overtime when required.
- Highly reliable team player along with a good work ethic is a must.
- Excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills and a willingness to grow and develop.
- Valid driver license in good standing and ability to pass background checks (criminal/drug/alcohol/DMV) required.
