CDL Driver - Hudson | Homelessness

Overview

Collaborative Support Programs of New Jersey (CSPNJ), a mental health nonprofit agency, is looking for two temporary Warming Center NJCDL Bus Driver(s). The Warming Center provides emergency overnight shelter for the unhoused from November through March in Kearny, NJ.

• Must have a NJ Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• Transport passengers in Hudson County to the Warming Center.
• Communicate effectively with passengers.
• Maintain orderly conduct of passengers on the bus.
• Assist passengers with boarding and exiting the bus, if needed.
• Report accidents, incidents, or mechanical problems to the center manager.
• Inspect the bus before and after each trip to ensure it is in good working condition and keep the vehicle clean.

Hourly Rate: $30.00 | $100 holiday shift pay on Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years Day.

2 part‑time shifts available | Up to 29 hours per week | No benefits.

• 7:00 am – 10:00 am
• 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm

• NJ Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
• Clean driving record with no accidents or violations within the last 3 years.
• Prior experience as a bus driver preferred.
• High School diploma / GED.
• Efficiency and time-management skills.
• Excellent driving skills and knowledge of traffic laws and regulations.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm and focused in stressful situations.
• Ability to work with individuals with mental illness in a caring and professional manner.
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office).
• Bilingual skills are a plus.
