Chair, Department of Family Medicine – Dartmouth-Hitchcock Keene – Keene, NH. Cheshire Medical Center at Dartmouth Keene is seeking an experienced Board Certified Family Medicine Physician to join our team as Chair of Family Medicine. Our ideal candidate has relevant experience as a medical director or above in a primary care practice or hospital system.

The Chair of the Department of Family Medicine will provide strategic and operational leadership for a department with a strong focus on community and population health. This individual will oversee approximately 50 providers, including physicians and advanced practice providers (APPs), across the main campus family medicine clinic, urgent visit services, and community satellite family medicine clinics in Walpole and Winchester. The Chair will also work closely with the Medical Director of the new Family Practice Residency Program to support education and training, and oversee the Nursing Homes in our area.

The Chair will report directly to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and play a pivotal role in shaping the department's clinical, educational, and quality initiatives.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of leadership experience as a Medical Director or Chair/Chief in Family Medicine
  • Demonstrated success leading multi-disciplinary teams that include physicians and APPs
  • Experience in population health management and Accountable Care Organization (ACO) initiatives
  • Proven track record in quality improvement and peer review processes
  • Experience with APP onboarding, mentoring, and development
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and strategic planning skills
  • Experience with interdepartmental collaboration
  • Experience with culture change and promoting provider well‑being
  • Experience in process improvement

Licensure & Certifications

American Board Certified/Truly Board Eligible in Family Medicine from ABFM or AOBFM. Must obtain and maintain a medical license in the State of New Hampshire and a Federal DEA registration.
