Under the administrative direction of the Nurse Manager and Practice Manager, the LNA will assist in the care of patients in the ambulatory clinic.
Performs proper patient identification in accordance with HIPAA and proper hand-washing procedures. Escorts patients to examination rooms and prepare for examination/procedure being aware of age, language barriers, and physical limitations. Documents patient-reported data collection. Accurately documents medication review, past medical and surgical history, and chronic health maintenance. Obtain and document patients' vital signs. Maintains chart information that is up-to-date, organized, and in compliance with Health Information Services (HIS) requirements.
Performs various tasks to ensure the clinic is well supplied, including ordering and obtaining supplies, re-stocking supplies. Maintains a clean and safe environment by caring forand cleaning clinic equipment, maintaining cleanliness of exam rooms, work areas, and keeping hallways clear of equipment. Participates in low-level disinfection, infection prevention, employs safety standards, and, participates in continuous regulatory readiness activities. Assure that departmental security procedures are followed, including daily opening and closing procedures (i.e. locking cabinets, log-off computers).
Assist provider with exams and procedures, as necessary. Ensure proper handling and labeling of specimen. Responsible for cleaning exam rooms, checking expiration dates and completing the outdate calendars. Performs proper donning and doffing of PPE, as well as assisting others in process and identifying problems with PPE. Meets expectations for performance based on compliance with all departmental standards, policies, and procedures with training and education, attendance, adherence, and quality standards.
Education (Minimum Needed):
High school graduation required.
Experience (Minimum Needed):
Previous hospital or ambulatory experience preferred.
Specific Skills and/or Knowledge Needed For Performance of Job:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to handle confidential material with maturity, sensitivity and discretion. Must demonstrate keyboarding skills and be familiar with computer use.
Licenses/
Certifications:
Licensed Nursing Assistant in the State of NH required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificate required.
