Position: M&E CAD Technician
The Opportunity

Our Client is a reputable, well established Mechanical & Electrical Contractor. An increase in workload has created an opportunity for an experienced M&E CAD Technician on an initial 3 months contract. They work across a diverse range of property types, involving multiple commercial and industrial projects including retail, healthcare, education and religious sectors.

The Position

As the M&E CAD Technician you will work as part of a team alongside electrical and mechanical engineers, to setup drawing layouts from mark-ups and assist with utility supply applications. Responsibilities;

* Work as part of a design team to complete drawing layouts, generally from hand mark-ups. Setting up x-refs from Architects plans. Replicating designs across similar areas of a building e.g. hotel floors and previous similar schemes.

* Manage the flow of CAD work and distribute to external assistance as and when required by timescales.

* Convert as-built records into digital CAD drawings (2D layouts and schematics).

* Produce 2D layouts and schematics.

* Perform ad-hoc drafting of sectional drawings and 3D arrangements.

* Conduct ad-hoc visits to sites to support on drafting activities.

* Ensure standardisation and accuracy of all outputs, in line with industry standards.

The Person

The successful candidate will possess the following experience;

* 2D CAD utilising AutoCAD and experience of 3D CAD.

* Preferably from a Building Services background

* Someone who can work as part of a team.

* Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage time and prioritise effectively.

* Good verbal and written skills, with an attention to detail.

* Experience of building services.

* Experience in website and social media updates would be useful.
