English Teacher SEN School (Autism & SEMH)

Greater Manchester Salary: £35,000 per year

Contract:

Full-time, Permanent We are looking for a passionate and committed English Teacher to join a growing specialist school supporting students aged 11-16 with Autism and Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) needs . This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new provision opening in September, offering excellent development pathways and a supportive, values driven environment. About the Role As an English Teacher within an SEN setting, you will play a key role in delivering high quality, engaging lessons that support both academic progress and emotional development.

You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to create a nurturing, structured and inclusive learning environment where every student can thrive.

Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver creative, differentiated English lessons across reading, writing, speaking and listening Teach literature and language in a way that inspires confidence and enjoyment Adapt resources and teaching strategies to meet a wide range of SEN needs Integrate social and emotional learning into daily teaching Provide targeted 1:1 or small group interventions where required Develop and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour support plans Use trauma informed, positive behaviour management approaches Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, parents and external agencies Track, assess and record student progress using a range of tools and observations Contribute to whole school development, CPD and team meetings
