Overview
Creekside Pet Care Center is looking for an experienced Veterinary Technician for our 24/7 busy 10 doctor, AAHA accredited veterinary clinic located in the Keller/Southlake area of the Dallas – Fort Worth Metroplex. This is a Full-Time position.

- $1,500 signing Bonus*

Essential Duties- Prepare exam rooms and assist in appointments with doctors.
- Take history from client, perform physical assessments and record observations in the medical records.
- Educate clients on preventative healthcare recommendations and provide follow up.
- Communicate patient or client concerns to appropriate personnel.
- Perform venipuncture, in-house laboratory tests, and prepare forms for outside labs; relay results to owner as requested by veterinarian.
- Provide and monitor nursing care for hospitalized patients, including medications (all routes) and monitoring.
- Admit and discharge patients following all protocols; educate clients on admit/discharge.
- Clean and restock exam rooms, treatment areas, wards and other areas as requested.
- Proficient knowledge of practice software for dispensing medications, printing treatment sheets, discharge instructions, labels and client communication.
- Ensure understanding and enforcement of OSHA regulations and hospital safety standards.
- Perform diagnostic imaging as requested by veterinarian.
- Conduct tech appointments (pedicures, ear cleaning, anal gland expression, routine lab work, subcutaneous fluids, etc.) as deemed appropriate by the practice.
- Assist doctors in medical and diagnostic procedures.
- Place IV catheters and begin fluid therapy when required.
- Assist in induction and maintenance of general anesthesia with doctor present.
- Assist in operating room, recovery, and post-op nursing care as requested by veterinarian.
- Perform client callbacks and updates as requested.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma (or equivalent).
- At least 3 years of clinical veterinary hospital experience required; veterinary technician education is a plus.
- Excellent listening and communication skills.
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
- Flexible and able to adapt to new situations.
- Ability to multitask and work as a team player.
- Basic veterinary medical terminology required.
