They are currently seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join their team. Reporting directly to the CFO, this role will support day-to-day accounting and administrative functions across multiple entities and thrive in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities will include:
Recording daily financial transactions using Sage and/or Quick Books accounting software
Reconciling bank accounts, credit cards, and petty cash
Processing accounts payable and receivable, including issuing invoices and receipts
Preparing and filing sales tax, GST, and payroll remittances
Assisting with monthly financial reporting and account reconciliations
Supporting year-end preparation and working with external accountants as required
Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting procedures
Managing payroll administration and related documentation
Providing administrative support and assisting with special projects and additional duties as needed
Contributing to process improvements and supporting a paperless, technology-driven office environment
Requirements
Highly organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy
Self‑motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage deadlines effectively
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach
Adaptable and comfortable working in a small team environment
Proactive problem‑solver with a positive and professional attitude
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information with discretion
Comfortable learning new systems and technology
Qualifications:
Diploma or certificate in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or a related field
Minimum of 3 years of bookkeeping experience in a similar role
Experience with Sage and/or Quick Books accounting software
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Knowledge of GAAP, payroll processes, and tax regulations
Experience working in a paperless office environment is considered an asset
This opportunity offers a competitive wage in the range of $30–$35 per hour, plus a comprehensive extended health benefits package. The role has historically operated within a four‑day work week; however, Davara is open to flexibility for the right candidate, including the potential for full‑time hours depending on experience and organizational fit.
The position is primarily office‑based in Kelowna, with flexibility around scheduling and the potential for some hybrid work arrangements over time.
