Financial Analyst for City

The City of Kelowna seeks an experienced Financial Analyst to support Corporate Finance and various city business units. This role involves financial analysis, reporting, and enhancing accounting systems. You will oversee reconciliations, manage accounting challenges, and may coordinate with finance staff to bolster internal controls and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide financial analysis and advisory services to city units

• Oversee reconciliations and resolve accounting issues

• Strengthen internal controls across financial operations

• Enhance financial reporting and accounting systems

• Support internal audits and project coordination

Requirements:

• CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant) designation

• Minimum five years of accounting experience

• Two years at Accountant level or higher

• Familiarity with AP and payroll processes

• Knowledge of Public Sector Accounting Standards
