Manager, Accounting

Kochhar & Co Chartered Professional Accountants is a locally owned firm with offices in Kelowna and Penticton. We provide accounting, tax, and consulting services to a wide variety of industries with a focus on small to medium local businesses. We are looking for a Senior Accountant who has public practice experience and is looking to grow their career via the educational opportunities available at our firm.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Statement Preparation:  Prepare and review financial statements with a focus on accuracy, details, and compliance in context to compilation engagements.
Tax Services:  Prepare and review personal and corporate tax returns and address client questions about the returns and other tax matters including planning, consulting and responses to CRA.
Client Interaction:  Communicate effectively with clients in verbal and written formats via in-person meetings, Zoom calls, phone calls, emails etc.
Technology:  Be extremely comfortable with the use of computers and accounting/tax software. We mainly utilize Profile, Case Ware, Quick Books, Excel, and Outlook.
Mentorship:  Provide training and guidance to other staff as needed to help further their professional development.
Professional Development:  We are looking for an individual willing to further their education by going through the CPA In-Depth Tax Program with the support of our firm.
Accountability:  You are expected to manage and complete your assigned tasks in a thoughtful and organized approach, asking for help or clarification when you need it.
Additional Tasks:  Undertake other tasks as required.
Qualifications
CPA with at least three years of public practice experience.
Strong knowledge of compilation engagements standards and financial statement preparation.
Proficiency with Profile, Case Ware, Quick Books, Excel and Outlook.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Positive self-motivated and team oriented attitude.
High level organization and time management skills with the ability to work independently.
Willingness and aptitude to learn new skills.
