Overview

Role and Facility Information. Located in the lakeside desert community of Osoyoos. This rural town of 5,000 people is served by 7 Family Physicians across 2 clinics. The population increases in summer due to tourism, with many visitors enjoying the beaches and wineries. A growing number of Snow Birds also visit for mild winters. The clinic is in downtown Osoyoos, a short walk to the beach and eateries.

It is 45 minutes from Penticton Regional Hospital where patients access specialist services. The clinic is well-staffed with an Office Manager and 3 MOAs. Each physician has 1 dedicated office space plus 2 exam rooms. The facility is spacious with recent renovations and well-equipped rooms. The practice uses Accuro and operates as a designated Primary Care Network site with a Psychiatric Nurse, Community Worker, Social Worker, and Registered Dietitian.

The work atmosphere is collegial with regular hallway consults, and the team covers absences for each other. Mentoring is available for new-to-practice physicians and for those unfamiliar with the local healthcare system.

The right candidate will start their own practice at their own pace and will maintain their own patient panel. There are many patients available on the Ministry’s attachment list. You would also be responsible for inpatients and long-term care patients from your own practice. There is an opportunity for ER shifts (APP remuneration) at SOGH in Oliver and Doctor of the Day shifts with a reasonable stipend.

Remuneration:
Fee-for-Service / LFP. Range 300,000 to 600,000 depending on clinic hours and addition of ER shift.

• May be eligible for additional remuneration under the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA) including:
• Retention Premium 4.94%
• Retention Flat Fee $7,648
• Relocation Funding Available $9,000–$15,000
• Recruitment Incentive $10,000
