JKCS is seeking a qualified Secondary Teacher-Librarian (full-time) to support its mission of preparing students for a life of transformation and service through excellent Christ-centred education. The salary for this role ranges from $60,000 – $104,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
The Teacher-Librarian is a certified teacher with formal education in teacher-librarianship who provides instructional leadership through collaborative teaching, information literacy instruction, and management of the Library Learning Commons. The role supports curriculum integration, literacy development, and effective use of print and digital resources.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with teachers to plan and teach inquiry-based learning
- Teach information literacy and support literacy across subject areas
- Manage and curate library and makerspace resources aligned with curriculum
- Promote reading, research, and lifelong learning
- Provide leadership in educational technologies and digital resources
- Support the diverse needs of a Christian learning community
- Valid teaching certification
- Completed or in-progress coursework toward a Teacher-Librarian certificate or diploma
- Formal education in teacher-librarianship, literacy, or information studies
- Willingness to complete training in the school’s library automation system
