Education Coach at Osoyoos Indian Band

Location: Oliver

Support Indigenous students' success as an Education Coach for the Osoyoos Indian Band in Oliver, BC. Collaboratively work with families, schools, and community programs to enhance student well-being and academic achievement.

As a full-time Education Coach, you'll engage with OIB and nominal roll students, advocating for their needs and fostering strong relationships. Key skills needed include communication, advocacy for student goals, and experience with First Nations communities. This role is vital in providing support structures and resources to empower students in their educational journey.

Key Responsibilities:

• Advocate for students and families within the education system

• Maintain and update Learner Profiles for each student

• Bridge communication between home, school, and community

• Deliver tailored tutoring and educational programs

• Engage with community partners and coordinate events

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience

• Minimum two years supporting First Nations learners

• Valid BC Driver’s Licence and reliable vehicle

• Experience with neurodivergent students considered an asset

• Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Sector) required
