Enhance student learning as a Learning Assistance Teacher with Central Okanagan Public Schools in Kelowna, BC.
This role offers both full-time and part-time teaching contracts focused on inclusivity.
Central Okanagan Public Schools is seeking qualified Learning Assistance Teachers for temporary contracts in elementary and secondary schools. Applicants must hold a Master's degree in Special Education or Inclusive Education and a valid British Columbia Professional Teaching Certificate.
Your role will involve developing learning strategies and plans tailored to students' individual needs in collaboration with educational staff and families.
Key Responsibilities:
• Administer and coordinate assessments for student support
• Keep accurate records of student progress and needs
• Collaborate on planning with students and educational stakeholders
• Utilize technology for instructional and reporting purposes
• Participate in implementing collaborative support models
Requirements:
• Master’s degree or postgraduate diploma in Special Education
• British Columbia Professional Teaching Certificate
• Experience in inclusive education settings
• Familiarity with educational technology in classrooms
• Preferred experience with functional behaviour assessments
