A) – UBCO
Job Summary Supports UBC and partner university students in international study, research, practice placements, and global seminars. Manages outbound and inbound mobility programs, develops curriculum, facilitates workshops, and advises students and faculty. Represents Go Global in university committees and project teams.
Responsibilities Student Advising Facilitate individual and group advising, workshops, and information sessions for visiting and outbound international students.
Refer students to on‑campus resources (academic advising, counseling, health, housing, etc.).
Assess learning goals, advise on program selection, and support application processes, including tool use and submission of successful applications.
Provide pre‑departure, mid‑journey, and post‑experience advising including housing, course selection, and academic admission.
Educate students on cross‑cultural skills, sponsor travelers, and coach on communicating international experience to employers.
Interpret and apply university and Go Global policies; propose and implement policy exceptions and changes.
Project Management Review, redesign, and improve processes and systems in collaboration with colleagues and student services.
Develop, deliver, and evaluate programs for visiting students and outreach initiatives.
Coordinate events to recruit and promote international learning experiences.
Participate in development of new summer programming and strategic initiatives.
Communication Develop and implement marketing and communication strategies for Go Global programs.
Write, edit, and maintain web content and promotional materials.
Create and maintain partnerships across UBC departments, units, and faculties.
Research and prepare briefs, data reports, and best‑practice documents related to international education.
Administration Recruit, hire, train, evaluate, and supervise student staff and BCGEU staff as needed.
Contribute to policy development to improve operational efficiency.
Represent Go Global on university project teams and committees.
Min. Qualifications Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline.
1–2 years of related experience or equivalent education/experience.
Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion (ED&I).
Preferred Qualifications Experience in post‑secondary advising or student services.
Experience in international settings or academic international learning.
Strong communication, organizational, time‑management, and cross‑cultural skills.
Analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Information technology proficiency (MS Office, publishing, internet).
