Part-Time K-6 Instructional Assistant II

Location: Penticton

Support literacy development as a part-time Instructional Assistant II at our Title I school. Ideal for those with knowledge of reading science and a passion for working with children.

This role focuses on aiding K-6 students through the 'Walk to Read' initiative, ensuring they receive essential reading interventions. Ideal candidates will thrive in collaborative settings and have education experience that aligns with our mission to support young learners effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in K-6 literacy interventions

• Work closely with teachers and instructional staff

• Support students during reading sessions

• Evaluate and report on student progress

• Facilitate structured reading interventions

Requirements:

• Must have an Associate's degree or higher

• Completed 48 semester hours from an accredited college/university

• Passing score on the Para Pro Assessment required

• Relevant experience with children preferred

• Understanding of reading science is advantageous
