Inclusion Support Teacher

1.0 FTE Temporary

September 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027 or earlier return of incumbent

• Education degree plus a Master's degree, or an Inclusive Education certificate, or 5 upper-level courses (must include a Level B Assessment course);
• recent successful classroom teaching experience in adapting curriculum;
• ability to:
  • lead in the development, implementation, and evaluation of Individual Education Plans, Learning Support Plans and Annual Instruction plans;
  • select and adapt curriculum, programs, and instruction to meet the diverse needs of all students including those with complex diverse abilities;
  • carry out a variety of assessments, including classroom observation, curriculum-based assessment and diagnostic teaching methods, and administration and interpretation of norm-referenced assessment instruments to Level B;
    
    - guide and support education assistant work under the direction of the school principal and provide leadership to the student support services department;
  • serve as school representatives when consulting with school district staff and community agencies;
• effective communication, interpersonal, organizational and classroom management skills;
• ability to integrate technologies and digital citizenship into educational programs; and
• BC Professional Teaching Certificate and current eligibility for Teacher Qualification Service card.

Employment will be contingent on successful completion of your education program. You may be eligible to apply for Canada's Student Loan Forgiveness program as a teacher in a rural and remote area.
