Intermediate Mine Waste Engineer
As an Intermediate Mine Waste Engineer, you will design and oversee mine waste containment systems that protect communities and ecosystems, ensuring compliance with environmental, geotechnical, and safety regulations.
Responsibilities- Design and guide the construction of mine waste containment systems that protect communities and ecosystems.
- Lead geotechnical investigations, stability assessments, and field programs supporting safe mine operations.
- Develop long‑term tailings, waste, and water management strategies aligned with environmental and regulatory expectations.
- Produce clear, data‑driven technical deliverables, reports, and performance assessments.
- Support compliance with environmental, geotechnical, and safety regulations across project sites.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including geology, water resources, closure, and project delivery—to drive integrated solutions.
- 5–7 years of experience in mine waste engineering, tailings, geotechnical, or related environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical, Civil, or Geological Engineering; P.Eng. designation or eligibility.
- Working knowledge of tailings dam design guidelines, geotechnical best practices, and CSA/ICMM/GISTM frameworks.
- Ability to thrive in both office and field environments, including remote project sites in Canada or abroad.
- Strong technical writing skills and comfort translating complex data into clear recommendations.
- Adaptable, collaborative mindset with a commitment to safe and sustainable delivery.
- Master’s degree in a related field.
- Knowledge of permitting processes and environmental regulatory requirements.
- Experience contributing to project execution or guiding multidisciplinary teams.
- AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $98,800 – $130,800
- MB & ON: $90,100 – $124,100
- NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $89,200 – $118,500
