What You’ll Do

Psyonix (a subsidiary of Epic) is looking for a Senior Systems Designer to develop, manage, implement, and/or lead designs for Rocket League. You will work with development teams of Artists, Programmers, Designers, Producers, and Product Managers to develop features and content to entertain and delight the Rocket League player base.

  • Design, develop, implement, and/or improve systems in accordance with Rocket League design principles.
  • Develop game systems that drive match feedback, player analytics, and matchmaking.
  • Create clear and concise design documentation and lead design projects for Rocket League.
  • Work with Design, Development, Production, and Product leadership across Epic to guide the tactical execution of initiatives related to Rocket League.
  • Partner with the Production team to provide a clear timeline regarding design tasks, priorities, and status.
  • Drive alignment across multiple stakeholders and guide implementation efforts on features, systems, and/or designs you are responsible for.
  • Monitor community feedback, identify player needs, evaluate what’s actionable, and create a plan of action to address.
What We’re Looking For
  • Passion for Rocket League and similar esports‑based titles.
  • Familiarity and interest in Fortnite Ecosystem features and mechanics.
  • Advanced level of professional game design experience (7+ years) with an emphasis in systems design on shipped competitive multiplayer and/or live "as a service" games.
  • Advanced level of professional technical design experience (5+ years) with an emphasis technical implementation on shipped competitive multiplayer games.
  • Demonstrable proficiency in written communication and a track record of effectively conveying your design through documentation.
  • Exceptional verbal communication skills with experience guiding collaboration across diverse disciplines.
  • A passion for active self‑growth and the growth of the colleagues around you.
  • Experience with Unreal Editor + Blueprints.
  • Professional experience with a high‑level programming language (e.g., C++, C#, Swift, JavaScript, Python, Verse, etc.).

The expected annual base pay range for this position is $152,967—$224,352 CAD in British Columbia.
