Play a key role at Westbank First Nation as an Emergency Response Coordinator. This position focuses on managing strategies for emergency response and recovery while ensuring collaboration with regional partners.
Reporting to the Council Secretariat, this role oversees WFN's emergency response activities and staff coordination. Key skills include emergency management, compliance, and communication. The coordinator also participates in planning sessions and represents local government at the Emergency Operations Centre during crises.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with departments to define roles clearly
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
• Lead emergency response activities in crises
• Liaise with provincial and federal emergency agencies
• Organize training sessions for staff and stakeholders
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
• Certification in Emergency Management preferred
• Three years of relevant experience
• Knowledge of Indigenous governance and policies
• Criminal Record Check clearance
This role requires a strong understanding of emergency protocols and excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively.
