Why should you join our team?
For more than 30 years we have believed that abundant renewable energy promotes healthier communities and shared prosperity. We are committed to responsible growth that balances people, our planet and prosperity, and we provide an engaging, inclusive and supportive work environment where each team member can thrive.

Your contribution!
As an Advisor – Indigenous and Community Relations, you will play a key role both externally and internally by supporting the development of strategic, long-term, and mutually beneficial relationships with Indigenous partners, local communities, governments and stakeholders. You will contribute to effective engagement and, when appropriate, consultation processes across the full lifecycle of our assets, ensuring we meet commitments to Indigenous partners and local communities while supporting development projects primarily in the South‑Central Interior and Okanagan regions of British Columbia.

Your day-to-day!

Support relationship building and maintenance with Indigenous partners, Indigenous communities, municipal governments and local stakeholders in assigned regions

Act as a key point of contact, providing “one‑window access” to the company for Indigenous partners and local communities

Maintain subject matter expertise on Indigenous history, rights and title, treaties, traditional protocols, UNDRIP, the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Calls to Action, and relevant federal and provincial legislation and policies

Collaborate with internal teams to maintain positive relationships and ensure compliance with contractual and legal obligations, while supporting shared opportunities for First Nations communities

Advise project teams on strategies to manage and mitigate relationship risks with Indigenous partners and support project success

Monitor, coordinate and report on emerging issues and needs impacting Indigenous partners

Track relevant policies, news and events related to Indigenous Peoples within assigned and relevant regions

Plan and coordinate engagement and, where appropriate, consultation processes with Indigenous communities

Monitor local government activities and assess potential impacts of policies and regional developments on projects

Collaborate with project teams to develop and execute engagement strategies, issue management plans and local government relations strategies

Support project teams in meetings with Indigenous partners and stakeholders, including participation, documentation (minutes, summaries), consultation logs and follow‑up actions

Assist in the development and delivery of presentations and engagement materials for internal and external audiences

Represent the company at industry, community and Indigenous events

Your skills, our requirements!

Completion of relevant post‑secondary education in political science, Indigenous history, Indigenous rights and title, public relations, communications or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Minimum of three years of relevant professional experience in the electricity and/or energy sector and working with Indigenous organizations and/or communities

Experience leading projects and engaging with external partners

Strong understanding of how to build trust‑based, durable relationships with diverse stakeholders

Ability to navigate complex or difficult conversations, find common ground and resolve conflicts while preserving relationships

Strong strategic thinking skills combined with the ability to manage urgent and evolving priorities

Ability to identify, contextualise and analyse risks associated with the role

Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and spoken)

Ability to work independently and collaboratively while managing multiple timelines and projects

Passion for the positive impact of renewable energy projects for Indigenous and non‑Indigenous communities
