Location: Penticton
Join the Building and Enforcement Services team as a Full-Time Bylaw Officer at the Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen. This role emphasizes compliance through education and effective enforcement measures.
The Bylaw Officer will enforce regional regulations related to zoning, property use, and public safety while managing complaints and conducting inspections. Your efforts will focus on achieving voluntary compliance and educating the community about bylaws that affect them.
Key Responsibilities:
• Resolve conflicts between stakeholders for compliance
• Manage investigation processes for bylaw complaints
• Perform field assessments in remote locations
• Document inspections and maintain accurate records
• Participate in the Emergency Response Team as required
Requirements:
• Completion of local government or law enforcement education
• Experience in a local government setting is preferred
• Knowledge of legislation impacting enforcement
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Criminal record check and valid BC Driver's Licence needed
Drive effective community bylaw enforcement while ensuring safety through your role in the Regional District.
