Contribute to community safety as the Emergency Coordinator for Westbank First Nation. This pivotal role requires developing and implementing emergency management strategies while actively engaging with regional stakeholders.
The Emergency Response Coordinator reports directly to the Council Secretariat and plays a vital part in crisis management and recovery. The ideal candidate will possess experience in emergency management, strong leadership capabilities, and effective communication skills to liaise with public and government agencies. This role includes representing WFN at the Emergency Operations Centre during critical events.
Key Responsibilities:
• Clarify roles across departments for emergency preparedness
• Ensure health and safety regulations are met
• Lead and coordinate emergency response efforts
• Communicate with provincial and federal agencies
• Organize emergency preparedness training sessions
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant area
• Certification in Emergency Management or equivalent experience
• Minimum three years coordinating emergency responses
• Familiarity with Indigenous governance preferred
• A valid Criminal Record Check
