Location: Penticton
Join the City of Penticton as a Bylaw Enforcement Officer, focusing on community safety and regulation enforcement. This permanent position is ideal for candidates passionate about municipal governance and public service.
Penticton is looking for a proactive Bylaw Enforcement Officer to investigate violations and educate the community on local bylaws. Emphasis will be on maintaining high visibility in public spaces and collaborating with city departments and law enforcement. This role involves conducting patrols, responding to citizen inquiries, and facilitating training programs for new officers.
Key Responsibilities:
• Enforce municipal bylaws through inspections
• Conduct foot and bike patrols to maintain order
• Provide educational programs and resources to the public
• Collaborate with safety agencies and city departments
• Document and manage all reported incidents comprehensively
Requirements:
• 1+ years working in a municipal regulatory role
• Completion of Grade 12 and relevant certifications
• Must have a valid B.C. Driver’s License
• Training in conflict management
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
