Reporting to the Bylaw Services Manager, the Relief Bylaw Enforcement Officer plays a pivotal role in managing both proactive and reactive investigations into bylaw violations. Daily responsibilities include performing inspections related to property use, zoning, public safety, and more. The position requires collaboration with various city departments and the ability to manage stressful situations effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
• Investigate and inspect bylaw complaints for resolution
• Provide evidence for adjudication of municipal offences
• Conduct foot and bike patrols to enforce bylaws
• Liaise with regulatory agencies for issue resolution
• Train new officers through an 'Officer Coaching Program'
Requirements:
• 1+ years in a municipal regulatory role
• Grade 12 completion with Bylaw certifications
• Valid B.C. Driver’s License
• Strong conflict management skills
• Proven ability to work flexible shifts
