Location: Various locations across British Columbia

As an Environmental Compliance Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring that organizations comply with environmental regulations and standards. Your role will be crucial in monitoring environmental practices, conducting inspections,and promoting sustainable practices within the jurisdiction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and enforce compliance with local, provincial, and federal environmental regulations and standards.
• Conduct inspections andaudits of facilities and operations to assess adherence to environmental laws and regulations.
• Review and analyze environmental impact assessments, reports, and permit applications toensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Provide guidance and supportto organizations and stakeholders on environmental regulations, best practices, and compliance strategies.
• Investigate and respond to environmental complaints and violations, taking appropriate enforcement actions as needed.
• Prepare and maintain detailed reports and documentation related to inspections, compliance, andenforcement activities.
• Collaborate with other regulatory agencies, environmental organizations, and community groups toaddress environmental issues and promote sustainability.
• Stay updated on changes in environmental regulations, industry trends, and best practices to ensure effective compliance and enforcement.

• Relevant certification ordiploma in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or a related field.
• Proven experience as an environmental compliance officer, environmental inspector, or in a similarrole, with a strong understanding of environmental regulations and standards.
• Excellent analytical skillsfor assessing environmental practices and identifying compliance issues.
• Strong communication skillsfor interacting with organizations, regulatory agencies, and the public.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills for managing inspections, reports, and compliance records.
• Ability to stay current with evolving environmental regulations, industry practices, and sustainability initiatives.
