We have a permanent full-time Registered Dietitian opening in our Home Health team in the sunny south Okanagan. This position works Monday to Friday from 08:00-16:00. This position requires Restricted Activities A and C, or a willingness to obtain with employer support. Based primarily from the Penticton Health Centre, this position also requires travel within the local area, including but not limited to Summerland, Osoyoos and Princeton.

Travel may be in a fleet vehicle, or a personal vehicle on mileage.

About the position

The Dietitian is a member of a multidisciplinary health care team and provides nutrition care and support to individuals, patients, residents, and groups according to established policies, standards and procedures. Utilizing clinical techniques and knowledge, the Dietitian provides nutrition services through nutrition assessment; care planning and charting; intervention, goal setting and monitoring; counseling and education programs; consults and communicates with the multidisciplinary care teams;

acts as a resource to other health professionals and communities within Interior Health. The Dietitian provides input to the Professional Practice Leader by participating in the development of nutrition practice guidelines and procedures; research and continuous quality improvement initiatives for the facility and program. The Dietitian liaises and advises food service staff on patient/resident care issues and menu development.

Qualifications
  • Baccalaureate degree in nutrition and dietetics.
  • Successful completion of an accredited hospital‑based dietetic internship program (or equivalent acceptable to the facility).
  • Full registration as a Registered Dietitian with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC).
  • One year of clinical nutrition experience in a health care environment preferred.
  • Valid BC Driver's License.
