Position Summary

Are you passionate about transforming knowledge into meaningful action that advances Indigenous Cultural Safety and Humility across healthcare? Interior Health is seeking a Knowledge Facilitator, Indigenous Cultural Safety to lead the development, synthesis, and sharing of evidence-informed resources, learning tools, policies, and practice supports that strengthen culturally safe care for Indigenous Peoples. In this dynamic and collaborative role, you will work across organizational boundaries and alongside Indigenous communities, healthcare leaders, and external partners to translate research into practice, inform system-level improvements, and support organizational learning.

From conducting literature reviews and policy analyses to developing resources such as guidelines, FAQs, educational materials, and knowledge-sharing initiatives, you will play an integral role in fostering continuous learning, relationship-building, and meaningful change throughout the health system.

The worksite location for this position is flexible and can be located anywhere within the Interior Health region.

Salary Range:

The salary range for this position is $90,770 (min) to $113,462 (midpoint) to $130,481 (max) per annum, based on 1.0 FTE. Interior Health typically establishes salaries within the minimum and midpoint of the salary range based on qualifications, experience of the applicant, and an internal equity review of the salaries of other employees.

How will you create an impact?

In accordance with the established vision and values of the organization, the Knowledge Facilitator, Indigenous Cultural Safety will provide leadership in the implementation of IH's cultural safety framework and plan through development of knowledge and skills in the application of cultural competency, safety and humility. The Knowledge Facilitator assumes the role of consultant to ad hoc teams, with a primary focus on supporting in the application of cultural competency, safety and humility.

The Knowledge Facilitator provides leadership in policy and guidelines, systems level collaboration, physician engagement and through knowledge of evidence-based practices, including curriculum development and program evaluation.

The Indigenous Cultural Safety and Humility program is intent on shifting culture and structures, and the Knowledge Facilitator is responsible for leading continuous quality improvement and ongoing program development (For example, the Organizational Self-Assessment Tool for ICs:
An Evaluation Rubric, developing and implementing policy and guidelines, facilitating systems level collaboration, curriculum development and program evaluation).

The Knowledge Facilitator collaborates with all members of the healthcare team and provides expert advice in the application of various legislations and policy.
