Housekeeper II Airport; YLW

Summary

Perform custodial duties, minor maintenance and other miscellaneous duties to ensure that buildings and facilities are maintained in a healthy, safe and sanitary manner.

• Clean floors by mopping tile/concrete floors, vacuuming all carpeted areas, washing and buffing floors with a floor polisher.
• Clean washroom areas by washing and disinfecting all floors, toilets, sinks, counters, mirrors, and replenishing toilet tissue and soap as required.
• Dust furniture, baseboards and fixtures; wash all finger marks from walls, doors, hardware and glass.
• Empty all waste and recycling containers and place waste/recycling items in the appropriate outside storage bins.
• Maintain storage areas and cleaning equipment, materials and supplies in a safe and orderly manner to ensure the safety of staff and the public.
• Wash, scrub and polish floors using auto scrubbers, burnishers and carpet cleaning equipment.
• Clean over 12‑foot‑high windows using a tucker pole.
• Perform and/or report minor maintenance repairs and lift/move furniture as required.
• Work overtime when required, including extended day, weekend or public holidays.
• Comply with the Company’s Policies, Management Plans and Procedures.
• Fulfil Health & Safety responsibilities by adhering to the requirements of the Company’s Health & Safety Policy and Health & Safety Management Plans.
• Support the Company’s Quality Policy Statement and actively participate in the achievement of Company and personal Quality objectives.
• Undertake such other duties appropriate to the level and character of work as may reasonably be required within the Department / Service.

• Authorized to work in Canada.
• Ability to pass the screenings and background check required by the company and client.
• Ability to obtain a Transport Canada security clearance and maintain an Airside Vehicle Operators Permit.
• Knowledge of standard cleaning procedures, chemicals, products and equipment.
• Ability to use auto scrubbers, burnishers and carpet cleaning equipment.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to move baggage up to 50 lb at height.
• Ability to clean over 12‑foot windows utilizing a tucker pole.
• Knowledge and training in Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System.
• Ability to read and understand labels and instructions, particularly on the use and application of cleaning chemicals and products.
• Ability to answer company or customer‑issued telecommunication devices in a professional manner.
• English proficiency both verbally and in writing to communicate with team members, the Client and visitors.
• Ability to work as part of an integrated maintenance team on a flexible schedule enabling maintenance and repair activities to be conducted outside of core airport operating hours as required.
• Ability to work with little supervision and solve problems independently.
