- Operate woodworking machines, such as power saws, jointers, mortisers and shapers, to cut, shape and form parts and components
- Shape surfaces or edges of wood workpieces, using hand tools, such as planes, chisels, or wood files.
- Study plans, specifications or drawings of articles to be made
- Sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain or polish to finished products; prepare and apply laminated plastics Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses
- Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
- Cabinetmaker Red Seal Certificate Area of specialization
