Job Description
Our client, Waycon Manufacturing Ltd., based in Penticton, BC, is a leading industrial equipment and machinery manufacturer serving clients across North America. Known for delivering high-quality, custom-built solutions, they support a wide range of industries from a two-acre facility equipped with advanced in-house machinery, state-of-the-art tooling, and cutting-edge engineering technology. Their capabilities span concept design, CNC machining, fabrication, welding, painting, assembly, and testing.
They are seeking a Mechanical Draftsperson to support the engineering team by producing accurate, complete drawing packages for fabrication and machining. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring project accuracy and efficiency from engineering through production. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented, technically skilled individual who enjoys collaborating with engineers and production teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create, revise, and maintain detailed manufacturing drawings for machining and fabrication projects;
- Work closely with engineers to ensure designs are accurate, practical, and shop-ready;
- Prepare and maintain bills of materials (BOMs), production documentation, and revision records;
- Assist engineering and production teams with day-to-day updates, drawing changes, and documentation support;
- Ensure drawing and document control standards are maintained.
- Mechanical Engineering Technologist diploma or related field;
- Experience preparing technical drawings and documentation for manufacturing;
- Proficiency in Solid Works and technical drafting for manufacturing environments;
- Familiarity with Excel, BOM management, and data/document management systems;
- Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret engineering specifications;
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams;
- Ability to work independently while supporting a team-based engineering environment.
