Location: Oliver
Job Description The Forklift & Warehousing Equipment Operator is responsible for the safe setup and operation of warehousing forklifts, automated palletization, de‑palletization, and pallet wrapping equipment. The operator ensures all equipment is operating safely, correctly, timely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities Safely operate task‑related equipment.
Plan and prioritize daily activities to deliver tasking in accordance with specific deadlines and the production schedule.
Ensure proper handling and movement of packaging products physically and within the RF inventory tracking system to maintain inventory accuracy.
Work in cooperation with production, maintenance, laboratory, and cellar personnel to identify and resolve issues and support departmental requests.
Ensure product quality parameters are met during movement and handling of finished goods and components.
Communicate with operations management about constraints and assist in organizing task‑related workflow.
Apply the FEFO (First Expired First Out) principle for proper material and finished goods selection and rotation.
Ensure compliance with all Health‑and‑Safety, departmental, and corporate policies and procedures.
Apply knowledge and skills to resolve quality and inventory issues.
Participate in inventory physical counts.
Perform any other tasks that may be assigned.
Working Conditions & Environment This position is located in a beverage/food manufacturing plant just outside Oliver, British Columbia. It requires flexibility with schedule, including break times and working extended hours when needed. The operator is exposed to moving machinery such as forklifts and palletization equipment.
Required safety gear includes Hi‑Visibility jackets or sashes, safety eyewear, a company‑provided hairnet/beard net as appropriate, and CSA‑approved footwear. The job is physically demanding, often involving repetitive lifting up to 55 lbs (25 kg) and exposure to noise requiring hearing protection as necessary.
Qualifications Substantial attention to detail in all duties; efficiency and effectiveness; administrative accuracy; effective communication; ability to meet plans and objectives; organization and cleanliness of the work environment; mathematical calculation skills; decision‑making and problem‑solving; experience as a forklift operator is an asset but not required.
Education Minimum of Grade 12 or equivalent education.
