General Labourer – Packaging
Location:

Department: Winery Operations – Packaging
Reports To:
Department Supervisor

Position Summary
The General Labourer – Packaging is responsible for supporting winery production operations by executing packaging activities in accordance with established production schedules, quality standards, and safety requirements. This role contributes to efficient, cost-effective operations while maintaining product integrity and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Operate and support packaging line equipment, including fillers, labelers, and automated case packers
Execute production tasks in accordance with work orders and production schedules
Perform quality checks to ensure products meet established specifications
Prepare packaging lines and equipment for daily operations in a timely manner
Assist with product transfers, including moving and setting up pumps and hoses
Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas in accordance with GMP standards
Adhere to all Health & Safety policies, HACCP requirements, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to meet production targets
Identify and report equipment or quality issues promptly
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Experience
Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
Previous experience in a fast-paced, physically demanding manufacturing or production environment preferred
Forklift certification or experience considered an asset (training provided if required)
Mechanical aptitude and basic mathematical skills
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Effective verbal and written communication skills

Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement
Positive attitude with a sense of urgency
Adaptability in a dynamic production environment
Working Conditions
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Willingness to work rotating shifts (days, afternoons, nights)
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, particularly during peak harvest periods
Work may be performed in cold, damp environments and at heights
Compensation & Benefits
Starting hourly rate: $27.01
