The Registered Nurse:
- Provides nursing care to OR patients, both by working independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team
- Enhances quality of life for the patient and family; consults, confers, and collaborates with other health care providers
- Demonstrates continuous improvement and evidence based practice in nursing practice
- Maintains and advances own clinical competence
- Participates on designated hospital committees/teams and approved research projects as assigned
This is a Permanent Part Time (0.90) opportunity.
Shifts of work will be Monday to Friday from 07:00 to 15:00 hours.
About this LocationSummerland Health Centre is a small and very efficient Perioperative Unit that provides quality care for Day Surgery Procedures. SHC performs ENT, Otolaryngology, Ophthalmology and Dental Surgeries. As member of the SHC surgical services’ team, you will coordinate and oversee the overall care of the client and set priorities, provide clinical expertise and leadership for the plan of care, plan and implement health care treatments and interventions, and assign and delegate tasks as appropriate to other members of the healthcare team.
Reporting to Manger, Clinical Operations Operating Room, you will draw upon your ability to establish therapeutic relationships through the use of effective interpersonal and interviewing techniques, ensuring client choices and autonomy in decision making and care planning.
