About the RoleRegistered Nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit responsible for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of client care. Works collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team and ensures delivery of client‑centered care by assisting patients and families as their health care needs change. Demonstrates specialized body of knowledge and bases practice on nursing science and related content from other sciences and humanities.
Typical nursing schedule: 12‑hour shifts, days and nights, with rotating days off.
LocationsPermanent NICU vacancies in Cranbrook, Trail, Kelowna, and Vernon.
Qualifications- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with BCCNM.
- Advanced preparation in a Neonatal clinical specialty or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) completed within 2 years.
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) completed within 3 years.
- Additional education in obstetrical emergencies (e.g., ALSO) is an asset, as is experience in circulating role during a C‑Section in the OR.
